With the minimum
of effort, this Cruise gives you an opportunity
to live in the historical past of Malta. Every Sunday
the English Rose departs from Mgarr harbour at 8.30
am and cruises along side of Comino island towards
Mellieha bay. Arriving at Mellieha bay you will
have approximately 1 hour stop so you can explore
the beautiful sandy beach of Mellieha or have breakfast
in one of the restaurants on the coast line.
At 10.45 am together with some
other people the English Rose will cruise alongside
the island of St. Paul (shipwrecked in 60 A.D ) towards
the city of Sliema, the most popular tourist resort,
proceeding alongside of Marsamxett Harbour towards the
Grand Harbour.
As Cruising in the Grand Harbour you
can listen to a detailed commentery about the history of
St. Elmo, the Medditerranian Conference Center (once Secret
Infirmary), the three Cities connected with two Great Sieges
of 1565 and 1942, as well as all the other places of interest
including the Malta Drydocks, the historical forts and creeks
which can only be admired from the sea.
Leaving the Grand Harbour to Mellieha
to unload the Maltese residents on board and back to Gozo,
arriving approximately at 3.30 pm.
